You have been created to have a relationship with God

 

          "...we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."  Romans 5:1

 

          "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son; that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but              have eternal life."  John 3:16

 

          "...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  John 10:10

 

 Our problem is that we have all chosen to disobey God and to go our own way.

 

          "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"  Romans 3:23

 

          "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 6:23

 

Our own efforts cannot bring us peace with God.

 

         "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."  Proverbs 14:12

 

         "But your iniquities have separated you from God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not                   hear."  Isaiah 59:2

 

When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He paid the penalty for our sin.

 

          "...God is on one side and the people are on the other side, and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to                   bring them together..."  1 Timothy 2;5

 

          "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

 

Therefore, we must believe that Jesus Christ provided the way to restore our relationship with God.

 

           "Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat                 with that person, and they with me."  Revelation 3:20

 

           "Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."             John 1:12

 

           "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you            will be saved."  Romans 10:9

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Admit Your Need - that you have sinned and are separated from God.

 

Be willing to turn away from your sinful behavior and Believe that Jesus Christ took the punishment for your sin on the

Cross and rose from the dead to give you the victory over your sin.

 

Confess with your mouth through prayer that you need Jesus to come and control your life with the help of the Holy Spirit and make a Commitment to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of your life.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sample Prayer to Receive Salvation

 

Dear Lord Jesus,

 

I know that I am a sinner and ask for your forgiveness.  I believe that You died on the Cross to take the punishment for my sins.  And today I want to turn away from my sins and dedicate my life to follow you.  Please come into my heart and life.  And right now I receive your gift of the Holy Spirit in my life and the promise of eternal life.  I will trust you as my Lord and Savior.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
