John 7:37-39 (NLT)

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”(When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)

Are you feeling weary? As believers we are to spend time digging into God’s Word. We are to spend time with Jesus on a regular basis. And as believers, we should speak in tongues often. Speaking in tongues is one of the best ways to be rejuvenated and to be refreshed. It causes the river of God to flow through us, bringing refreshing and rest in the Lord. Speaking in tongues not only refreshes us, but it empowers us. Jesus said that His believers would receive power when they were baptized with the Holy Spirit. Luke 14:49 says: “And look, I am sending you what My Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered from on high."

As believers we should never feel weary, down and out, or useless. We have the right and the authority to turn the power on or off. And I don’t know about you, but I want the power to stay on. If God has given me this free gift, I gladly accept it and utilize it. How crazy is it for someone to give you an amazing gift and you just leave it wrapped up or even worst, open it, see how great it is and put it in a drawer. I heard it said like this “A Christian not using his spirit language that the Holy Spirit deposited within him is like a person not writing checks on a million dollars someone deposited into his account.” How is crazy is that???

I encourage you today, stir up the gift of God which is in you. This will build up your faith, which gives you boldness and the power to do all that God has created you to do.
