Be a God-Pleaser
1Thessolonians 4:1, Romans 8:7-8
"Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more."
"For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God."
There is no way you can please all people all the time. Criticism is a reality of life. Successful people find the balance between ignoring and accepting criticism. Whether I ignore or accept the criticism is determined by the source it comes from. If it comes from a source that I respect, I must receive it and give my consideration, and I cannot be afraid to make the changes suggested. But if the criticism is negative and destructive, I must put it out of my mind and move on. There is one person we must all seek approval from more than anyone else and that is God. If what you are doing is pleasing Him, then who cares what everyone else has to say. Because I know He loves me and wants the best for me, I will listen to anything He has to say and make any changes to my lifestyle that is required of me.
