Honor God With Your Body

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

One of the greatest shifts we can make on our wellness journey is recognizing that our bodies are not merely ours to manage, they are God's dwelling place. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us that Holy Spirit lives within us. That truth should change how we view our health, our habits, and our daily choices.

Honoring God with your body is not about striving for perfection or meeting society's standards. It is about stewardship. Just as we care for our homes, our vehicles, and the things entrusted to us, God calls us to care for the body He has given us. We only get one!

So, think about it, every glass of water, every healthy meal, every walk, every moment of rest, and every choice to nourish rather than neglect yourself is an act of worship. These small daily decisions become ways of saying, "Lord, I value what You have entrusted to me."

Sometimes we disconnect our faith from our physical health, but God cares about every part of our lives. He desires for us to be spiritually strong, emotionally healthy, and physically equipped to fulfill the purpose He has placed on our lives.

Let today be a reminder, that taking care of yourself is not selfish; it is stewardship. Your body is a gift from God and a vessel through which He works.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How can I better honor God with my body?

  2. What healthy habit(s) do I need to be more consistent with?

  3. What is one change I can make today that reflects good stewardship?

Declare Today:

"My body is God's temple. I honor Him through my choices. I am healthy, disciplined, strong, and equipped to fulfill His purpose for my life. Every healthy decision I make today is an act of worship and stewardship."

Let's Pray:

Father, thank You for the gift of my body and the life You have given me. Help me to see my health through Your eyes and to honor You with my daily choices. Give me wisdom, discipline, and strength to care for myself well. Teach me to be a faithful steward of everything You have entrusted to me. May my life, including my health, bring glory to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
