Write the Vision

Habakkuk 2:2

"Then the LORD answered me and said: 'Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.'"

I am so grateful that God gives His children vision. Vision is more than a dream or some personal ambition. It is a glimpse of God's purpose for our life. It provides direction when life if lifing and hope when the journey becomes difficult.

In Habakkuk, the prophet sought the Lord for understanding, and God's response was simple yet profound: Write the vision. God knew there would be days when discouragement would try to cloud what He had spoken. By writing it down, Habakkuk would have something tangible to return to; a reminder that God's promises had not changed, even if his circumstances had.

As it is with us today. God's plan for our lives is always packed with purpose and backed with grace. He never calls us to do something without also providing the grace to accomplish it. His assignments come with His empowerment. His promises come with His faithfulness. When God impresses something on your heart, whether it's a dream, a calling, a Scripture, a burden, or even a promise, don't let it fade into a passing thought. Write it down. Keep a journal of what God speaks through His Word, prayer, worship, and quiet moments with Him. Those written reminders become fuel for your faith when waiting feels long and progress seems slow.

Writing the vision also enlarges your expectation. As you revisit what God has spoken, your faith grows, your focus sharpens, and your heart remains aligned with His purpose instead of being distracted by the temporary circumstances that's going on all around you.

Not every step of your journey will make sense, but I'll tell you this, every step is a part of God's greater plan. The vision may require patience, it may require perseverance, and trust, but what God has ordained will come to pass in His perfect timing.

So ask yourself today:

  • What has God been speaking to my heart?

  • Have I written it down?

  • Am I living each day with the vision He has given me before my eyes?

Don't allow yesterday's disappointments to erase tomorrow's promise. Keep the vision before you. Read it often. Pray over it continually. Walk toward it faithfully. The God who gave the vision is also the God who will fulfill it. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Father, thank You for being a God of purpose. Thank You that every plan You have for our lives is filled with hope, meaning, and grace. Help us to hear Your voice clearly and to faithfully write down the vision You place in our hearts. When we grow weary, remind us of what You have spoken. Strengthen our faith as we wait, and give us courage to walk in obedience each day. May our lives reflect Your purpose, and may we never lose sight of the destiny You have prepared for each of us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Declare Today:

I choose to write the vision God has given me. His plans for my life are filled with purpose and sustained by His grace. I will remember His promises, enlarge my vision through faith, and walk confidently toward the destiny He has prepared for me. What God has spoken, He will surely bring to pass.
