Dead Man Walking

The Bible tells us that life is but a vapor. So unfortunately, one day we will all die a physical death. For those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, our spirits will go to be with Christ. We will leave behind negative thought patterns and our sinful nature, And when Christ returns, He will give us new glorious bodies; free from guilt, shame, and death. Just take a moment to think about that feeling of freedom. AHHHH :) We will be dead to sin and alive to God!

Isn't it a liberating feeling??? But guess what? This is already so. Galatians 2:20 tells us" I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

God tells us to consider ourselves to be what we already are: dead men walking. Dead to sin, but alive in Him! Let me remind you today, that you have been cruified with Christ Jesus. You have a new identity in Him. That old man/woman, that old nature that gave in to sin, that person is dead. As Jesus is one with the Father in life and power, so we are one with Him in life and power. Sin is no longer our nature, it's not the boss of us! We are new creatures, destined for greatness.

Speak this today: Thank You Lord that I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ is living in me. And the life which I now live in my body, I live by faith in Your Son, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I yield my body to You as an instrument of righteousness, to do Your Will. Thank You, that greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. You have set me free and have set me apart for Your use. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
